had a wonderful massage in Byron, called Hawaiian massage. It's quite different to regular swedish massage, and while not for everyone, I just loved it. If you have been wondering whether to go ahead and have one, take the small risk, it's worth it. If you've never had a massage, it may be too full on.
I'm still on holidays and so have been erratic in my attendance here, though thinking of it often. Just wanted to check in and assure any regular readers that I am still alive and that this will get better, more focused and more interesting in a week or so when I am back in NY. Quite fearful of returning. Remembering how lonely and weird I can get there. But my group work should be starting, and lots of family are threatening to visit in August/September and that will make things easier too.
Still trying to figure out how I want to live when I grow up...
Celebrating my son's 5th birthday this week. Having a party tomorrow, with jumping castle and balloons and chocolate crackles. He helped me fill the lolly bags today and is looking forward to baking the cake tomorrow. It should be fun.
more soon,
cheers

watching six feet under, which I always enjoy. Just saw 2 episodes of sex in the city, which always leaves me with a feeling of sadness. A 35 year old who dresses and acts like a 17 year old and then gets upset when presented with adult situations. The whole relationships being the centre of life but not being prepared to be adult about it. It's actually very mills and boon (or harlequin), it's just jazzed up and wit more sex, but this ideal of love which we just fall into, never needs work. All these people terrified of taking risks, Samantha only wanting to be the more powerful in the relationship, not willing to take emotional risks. All of them are good friends to each other but they just don't learn from any of their mistakes. I like the lawyer character best, but I can't remember her name. What does that mean?
I'm distracted by six feet so I'll leave it. I'm still reading Ghostwritten and still not 100% certain about it.

having a bad computer day, as I try to log onto something I'm even really sure I want to do and the computer resolutely refuses to recognise my (correct) password. So thought I would stop trying and come onto here, where all of me is recognised.
Felt a bit ill/queasy today, sluggish.
We're up in Byron Bay, which is very pretty, but real estate prices are just insane up here, barely cheaper than Sydney which is one of the most expensive cities in the world (I know you wouldn't think it, but it is in fact true, Sydney is up there with Tokyo, London and New York... ) and Byron has all these million dollar properties and I keep thinking, who lives here and can afford to pay a million dollars for their house? But Bangelow and Mullimbinby have cheaper properties. I have this plan to live out here, but hadn't realised how ridiculously expensive this area is. Sigh. Wanted a cheaper easier life style. My cousin who is living up here, looks terrific and says what a wonderful life he is leading right now.
Watching Two Hands on television, which is a very funny Australian movie. Do like the good Aussie movies. This one is a crime one, set in the nineties, if you get a chance, view it. Don't know how available these sorts of things are, haven't been into a video store in America ever, so don't know if you can get obscure stuff or only the latest releases.
Reading an interesting book (not quite damned with faint praise, but something I like without being obsessed. Perhaps it will grow on me) It's Ghostwritten by David Mitchell. Has all these chapters each in the first person which is a bit confusing at first, as none of that is explained (so the 'I' in the first chapter is a different person from the 'I' in the second chapter and so on..) but once you get your head around that, it settles down into an good ride. I'll see how it comes out. I must be getting older, I'm reading all these books that the english papers love. I used to find them too hard work, but now I seem to enjoy them. Well, I will be 39 this year. Maturity has got to come some time. Did reread Robin Schone's My Lady's Tutor, a very explicit romance, well, erotica rather than romance, which is not the sort of thing you want to read on the bus, definitely gets you blushing. So not that sophisticated, though still grown up!
